He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at New York University, where he continues to train future surgeons in innovative spine techniques.

Dr. Gillis is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS) and holds membership in the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), including its Spine and Peripheral Nerve section. His research has yielded an impressive body of work, including 26 peer-reviewed journal articles, 16 book chapters, and 12 international presentations.
